Kittredge had a 3.32 ERA in 23 games during the regular season with the Cubs, becoming a trusted arm for Craig Counsell during the playoff chase. During the postseason, he allowed three runs in five innings.
It’s a confusing yet humorous move, with Kittredge spending only a few months in Chicago before being shipped back to Baltimore. He had a $9 million team option attached, and this trade signals that the Cubs weren’t interested in paying him that much.
