Matthew Boyd to Undergo Knee Surgery, Return Timeline TBD
You can’t blame this one on the trainers. Matthew Boyd suffered an injury while playing with his kids on Wednesday morning and will undergo surgery to repair a torn left meniscus. The Cubs won’t have a timeline for his return until after the surgery, but he is likely to be shelved for several weeks. A more serious repair could result in months of recovery.
I don’t even want to think about what’s next for this pitching staff.
