Cubs Releasing Rom-Com Called ‘Nine Innings to Love’ on TikTok
That headline reads like a Mad Lib, but it’s entirely true. As reported by Variety and other outlets, the Cubs have announced a September 4 release for “Nine Innings to Love,” a romantic comedy inspired by the real-life trope of fans meeting and falling for each other at Cubs games. No word on who is playing a young Tom Ricketts.
The series will launch on the team’s TikTok account and will be told across nine innings of a game in 17 short-form episodes. Directed by Adam Sobel, who previously helmed “The Workers Cup” and “Rocket to Danger,” the series was created and written by Cubs Productions with additional services provided by Coyote Sun Productions.
